Voice of America is looking for a Georgian-speaking journalist in its Washington, DC, office - and they have sent along a description of the job. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
· Conceives, plans, researches and writes original material that explores, often-in-depth, subjects ranging from hard news to social aspects
· Follows current developments in the target area, concerning national and international news and feature stories
· Copyedits news reports, in-depth background reports, and feature programs, interviews, and other programming material originated by VOA broadcasters
· Assists editorial staff in monitoring the accuracy of translation in television broadcasts
· Produces original content, adapts VOA news and information for publication on the VOA Georgian online outlets (webpage and social media)
· Initiates and conducts original interviews with a variety of noteworthy subjects and news sources
