Almaz Kumenov, Kazakhstan Correspondent @akumenov
Prior to joining Eurasianet in 2016, Almaz was Kazakhstan country editor for the Institute for War and Peace Reporting. He has also written for the Washington Post and the Guardian. Almaz published a book on consumer protection in 2007 when he was the executive editor of Personal Money magazine in Almaty.

Arshaluis, a presenter for CivilNet's online television, has been a journalist since 2009. He contributes to Russia's Kommersant newspaper and previously worked with the Regnum news agency. 

Ayder Kurtiev, Russian Service Editor 
Ayder joined Eurasianet in 2002, initially as a coordinator and translator. He has worked for Internews, one of the world's largest media-support NGOs, and with several other international media outlets.

Ayzirek Imanaliyeva, Kyrgyzstan Correspondent @aizirekstan
Ayzirek previously worked at the local outlet Kloop.kg. She also studies law at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavonic University in Bishkek.

Giorgi has been covering the Caucasus since 2003 and has written for Eurasianet since 2007. Giorgi’s work has also appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the Guardian and NPR.

Heydar Isayev, Azerbaijan Correspondent @haydarisasoy
Heydar is a graduate of the Masters in Multimedia Journalism program at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs in Tbilisi. He has worked with RFE/RL’s Azerbaijani service, Meydan TV, OC Media, and other outlets.

Joanna Lillis, Editor-at-Large @joannalillis
Joanna is the Central Asia correspondent for The Economist and author of Dark Shadows: Inside the Secret World of Kazakhstan. She has been living in Central Asia since 2001 and reporting for Eurasianet since 2006.

Justin Burke, Publisher & Executive Director
Justin founded Eurasianet in 1999 and served as managing editor until late 2017. He was a Moscow correspondent for the Christian Science Monitor in the early 1990s and then a visiting scholar at Harvard University. Justin got his start in journalism with the AP in Detroit.

Lilit Shahverdyan, Karabakh correspondent. @lilithiumm_
Lilit is from Stepanakert, Nagorno-Karabakh, and has reported on developments there since 2021. She previously wrote for the Armenian Mirror-Spectator.
