Almaz Kumenov, Kazakhstan Correspondent @akumenov
Prior to joining Eurasianet in 2016, Almaz was Kazakhstan country editor for the Institute for War and Peace Reporting. He has also written for the Washington Post and the Guardian. Almaz published a book on consumer protection in 2007 when he was the executive editor of Personal Money magazine in Almaty.

Ani Mejlumyan, Armenia Correspondent @MejlumyanAni 
Ani has written for Eurasianet since 2018. She has also been an investigative reporter with the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project and worked at RFE/RL, Armenian Public TV, and several other outlets.

Ayder Kurtiev, Russia Editor
Ayder joined Eurasianet in 2002, initially as a coordinator and translator. He has worked for Internews, one of the world's largest media-support NGOs, and with several other international media outlets.

Ayzirek Imanaliyeva, Kyrgyzstan Correspondent @aizirekstan
Ayzirek previously worked at the local outlet Kloop.kg. She also studies law at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavonic University in Bishkek.

Chris Rickleton, Trainer and Editor @ChrisRickleton
Chris is a Eurasianet project editor with 12 years’ experience reporting from Central Asia for international media. He is the Central Asia Correspondent for Agence France-Presse and previously was the regional editor at Global Voices.

David Trilling, Managing Editor @dtrilling
David has been Eurasianet’s managing editor since early 2018; previously he served for seven years as Central Asia editor. He was a 2016 Knight-Bagehot Fellow at Columbia University. In the early 2000s, David helped build a network of community radio stations in Afghanistan.

Giorgi Lomsadze, Senior Caucasus Correspondent @georgelomsadze
Giorgi has been covering the Caucasus since 2003 and has written for Eurasianet since 2007. Giorgi’s work has also appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the Guardian and NPR.

Heydar Isayev, Azerbaijan Correspondent @haydarisasoy
Heydar is a graduate of the Masters in Multimedia Journalism program at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs in Tbilisi. He has worked with RFE/RL’s Azerbaijani service, Meydan TV, OC Media, and other outlets.

Joanna Lillis, Editor-at-Large @joannalillis
Joanna is the Central Asia correspondent for The Economist and author of Dark Shadows: Inside the Secret World of Kazakhstan. She has been living in Central Asia since 2001 and reporting for Eurasianet since 2006.

Joshua Kucera, Turkey & Caucasus Editor @joshuakucera
Joshua has written for Eurasianet since 2007 and has written about the Caucasus and Central Asia for a variety of publications. He is a former staff reporter for Jane's Defence Weekly and the Associated Press.

Justin Burke, Publisher & Executive Director
Justin founded Eurasianet in 1999 and served as managing editor until late 2017. He was a Moscow correspondent for the Christian Science Monitor in the early 1990s and then a visiting scholar at Harvard University. Justin got his start in journalism with the AP in Detroit.

Nini Gabritchidze, Georgia Correspondent @NGabritchidze
Nini covers developments in Georgia. From 2020 to 2022, she worked for Georgian online outlet Civil.ge, writing news reports, analyses and newsletters. She holds degrees in political science and international relations.

Peter Leonard, Central Asia Editor @Peter__Leonard
Peter has been Eurasianet’s Central Asia editor since 2015. Prior to that he worked as Ukraine bureau chief for the AP. Between 2009 and 2013, he served as Central Asia correspondent for the AP. Peter speaks Russian, Italian, Maltese, passable French and very basic Tajik.

Ulkar Natiqqizi, Azerbaijan Correspondent @UlkerNatiqqizi
Before joining Eurasianet, Ulkar worked as an investigative reporter for iFact focusing on the Azerbaijani community in Georgia.
