Georgia Photo: Pick Up a Piece of the Soviet Past
A seller awaits customers at the Tbilisi flea market. Beginning in the 1990s during an economic crisis, the market was a place of financial survival for many people, who would bring their personal belongings to earn some much-needed money. Now the market is a central-Tbilisi tourist attraction, where Soviet-era memorabilia of posters, statues, medals, and household goods can be bought as souvenirs.
