The World Trade Organization commended Georgia as one of the world's fastest reforming economies, but the organization noted that the country continues to suffer from the double whammy of the 2008 Russian invasion and the global financial meltdown.
Georgia's agricultural sector is the country's weakest economic area, as "labor productivity is one-tenth of that in the rest of the economy," the WTO said in a statement released December 10 after the body reviewed Georgian economic performance.
The WTO said that further liberalization and streamlining of economic governance would be key to improve Georgia's "resilience to shocks."
