Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad makes a public visit on April 8, 2008, to Natanz - a secretive desert uranium-enrichment facility - where he viewed the country's latest technologies used to enrich nuclear material. The president inspected P-1 centrifuges, of which some 3,000 machines were operating, and the new IR-2 centrifuge, which has a carbon fiber rotor and is more efficient in enriching uranium.
