After a much-criticized trial that sometimes seemed like it would never reach a verdict, a Turkish court has sentenced Ogun Samast, the murderer of Armenian journalist Hrant Dink, to some 22 years in jail.
Samast, who was 17 at the time of the killing, was sentenced as a minor. He still faces other charges relating to the 2007 murder, which took place on the sidewalk in front of the offices of Agos, the Armenian-Turkish newspaper Dink edited. More details here.
