Six days following the evacuation of the "Occupy Movement" in Istanbul's central Gezi Park, the municipality have been active in covering over the graffiti and political slogans that were sprayed over significant areas of Istanbul while the protests were ongoing. The regular exception however was that images of Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Turkish republic, would remain untouched.
