Turkmen President Received Foreign Guests
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov received several foreign visitors, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in festivities on the occasion of Turkmenistan’s Independence Day, including Indian State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Paban Singh Ghatowar; Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuriy Boyko, and the Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister, Viktor Maiko; the governor of Russia’s Astrakhan region, Alexander Zhilkin; heads of Ukrainian companies, including Chairman of the SA Interbudmontazh, Vladimir Petruk, Chairman of the Board of Altcom Financial and Industrial Group, Alexander Tislenko, and Chairman of the Eurasian Pipeline Consortium, Andrew Chebanenko; as well as Vice-President of the Turkish Cotam enterprises Ltd, Gengoryu Sedoi; head of the Turkish Polimeks Insaat, Erol Tabanja, and the head of the Turkish Engin Group, Engin Kale.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a note to President Berdymukhamedov, congratulating him on Turkmenistan's national holiday – Independence Day.

On October 25, 2013, Belarus hosted the CIS Heads of States CIS Summit under the chairmanship of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. Due to his busy schedule President Berdymukhamedov could not attend and Vice-Premier Annamukhamed Gochiev headed the Turkmen delegation at the Summit. Turkmenistan strives to deepen relations with the CIS countries in light of current circumstances and the interests of all the parties involved, said the Vice-Premier in his speech at the Summit.

The participants elected Turkmenistan to chair the “Central Asia plus Japan” dialogue for 2015-2016.
